About the Job
You should have experience estimating for construction, landscaping, or design/build projects. In this role, you’ll be a vital part of the team—providing the accurate numbers and insights that drive our success as you continuously fine tune our process. You’ll work closely with our Design, Sales, and Production teams to ensure that every project is accurately bid and competitively priced.
This is a hands-on, full-time role with opportunities to grow your career as you demonstrate your capabilities and commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements for projects
- Estimate detailed project costs based on design and technical specifications
- Collaborate with Design and Production teams to ensure accuracy and clarity
- Work with the Sales team to prepare polished proposals
- Prepare cost reports and update estimates throughout the lifecycle of a project
- Track and compare estimated vs. actual costs for continuous improvement
- Input and manage cost data in the company’s estimating system
- Ensure all customer requirements are factored into the final pricing
- Establishing and or refining accurate production rates for critical tasks
- Maintaining up to date pricing for materials subject to cost fluctuation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working as an estimator in construction, landscaping, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and make sound, data-based decisions
- Comfortable creating reports and presenting cost data
- Excellent math, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Deep knowledge of construction and estimating workflows
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Fast learner who thinks on their feet, maintains a fast pace and sense of urgency
- Team player with a commitment to collaboration and accountability
