Malone’s Landscape: Committed to Community
Here at Malone’s Landscaping, we know that the role of businesses in the community is to give back to causes that matter. We’ve been committed to the Greater Seattle area for many years and want to share a few of the causes that touch our hearts the most.
Vine Maple Place
One of the charities that we support is Vine Maple Place. They aim to end homelessness in South King County with a particular focus on homeless women and children. The team at Vine Maple Place provides safety and stability while also enabling future self-sufficiency for those in need.
In the past, our employees have gone to help assemble hygiene kits or welcome baskets for those who are new to Vine Maple Place.
Our team also helps out with maintenance on the grounds around the Family Hope Center and shelter units. Last summer, we made sure there was a shaded play area for kids to be protected from the sun on those hot summer days and the rain when it inevitably arrived.

Maple Valley Food Bank
We’re also involved with the Maple Valley Food Bank which works to provide food and emergency services to those in need.
They’ll also need help periodically with kit assembly or food sorting. Last summer, we supported them through an event put together by the Industry Collective that included other businesses in the landscaping industry.
Industry Collective
As members of the landscape industry, we’ve worked with Industry Collective to help provide support to communities in need.
That can look like a lot of different things. Sometimes, it’s offering landscaping support or having our team help assemble the hygiene kits needed for these communities.
Sometimes those kits even go to Vine Maple Place which we mentioned earlier as a local charity we love to support whenever possible. In 2021, we provided 72 fully stocked back-to-school backpacks to children in need.
It’s always great to do these things as a team. Not only do we all get together for a common cause, but we’re building connections and a positive mentality that we want to bring to all our jobs.
That’s just part of what makes Malone’s Landscape Design feel more like a family. We want our crews to feel connected to each other and to the greater Seattle community as a whole.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Another cause that is near to our hearts is breast cancer awareness. It hits pretty close to home for us too.
Our own Vice President, Debbie Malone, is a two-time survivor of breast cancer. In the summer of 2021, she spent much of the time going through chemo.
About 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime (Breastcancer.org.) At Malone’s Landscape Design, when we hear of any initiative related to Breast Cancer, we do what we can to get involved. Whether that’s a walk, donations, or events, we like to be there to show our support.
Giving Back
Our commitment to giving back is a reflection of how much we care about the community that we live and work in.
It’s not just about internal team building for us. We want to know and support the people we work alongside, live next to, and see on our way to the job site. That interpersonal connection is so important to us and tells us so much about the ways we can best serve our community.
